Composed of 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache, this cuvée demonstrates an airy style with generous fruit. The palate is fine and very slender with notes of red fruits, sweet spices and menthol. Having benefited from a particularly long aging (18 months in concrete vats), Spoutnik offers great potential for development over the years to come.
The Peyrus estate identified a small plot of hard limestone with a significant dolomite resurgence, which was vinified separately. This SPOUTNIK cuvée, in reference to the shape of the tank in which it was matured, resembles the Russian capsule of Gagarin.
Nose of dry herbs, garrigue, tapenade, iodine. Mouth to match. Very original, a counterbalance to overripe grapes often encountered in the region.
