Ideally exposed, the terroirs of the Négly are distinguished by the diversity of their soils. Indeed, sandy loam and sandstone Boède, the Négly argilo limestone give the wines from these vineyards a wide range of aromas.
In order to better enhance the vineyard, Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre have replaced Aramon, Terret and Carignan blanc. The harvesting machine has given way to secateurs and crates.
La Porte du Ciel, the flagship of Château la Négly, made up essentially of the two vines at the entrance to the estate, the plots planted in 1996 are located on particularly very stony sandy-clay-limestone soils.
Following careful vatting without crushing the wines, aging in new barrels for 24 months begins. The gate of heaven is the fruit of a colossal work which requires more than three days of work, harvest and sort combined.
The nose combines aromas of cherry, cocoa, with notes of vanilla and blond tobacco. On the palate, this rich, dense and smooth wine offers delicious flavors of blackberry. It is powerful, smooth and reveals extraordinary persistence thanks to a finish with perfectly ripe tannins.
All the bottles displayed in our website are stocked in our cellar in Bordeaux.
