The Château de Fesles was built at the top of the third highest point in the Loire Valley. From the start, he had the privilege of benefiting from the vines that would later obtain the Bonnereaux appellation, this sweet wine for which the Château is famous. The archives of the Château even mention that the cru de Bonnereaux was cited in 1055 by the monks of Gué de Berge. In 1991 the property was fully restored. Since then, the quality of its facilities has made it a benchmark in Anjou, and one of the most recognized properties in the region. The Château overlooks the Layon river. On the plateau, we mainly find the red Cabernet Franc grape dedicated to the production of Anjou Red “Vieilles Vignes” and the Chenin blanc grape for white wines. The proximity of the Layon leads to the formation of morning mists favoring the development of Botrytis or "noble rot". This element is essential in the production of Bonnereaux.
