Between 14 and 20 months of aging, 60-year-old vines on clayey-silty-sandy soil on Turonian.
The Domaine La Porte Saint-Jean is starting to make a solid reputation on the web, on starred restaurants as well as on export markets. Sylvain Dittière is the son-in-law of the late Charly Foucault (Clos Rougeard). Talented in his thirties, Sylvain Dittière worked for the Gaubys, Thierry Germain, Château Yvonne and Clos Rougeard, where he became associated with the Foucault family. This very serious apprenticeship naturally led him to settle in 2011 in Montreuil Bellay, in an old and very fresh cellar, perfect for long aging which is his trademark. Original, the range includes a sauvignon blanc on sandy clay soils, aged 14 months in barrels, and a chenin, the Perlée, which has spent 24 months in barrels. Very mastered, the two reds offer gripping flavors and a remarkable frankness of expression, patinated by aging with great precision and requirement.
