Domaine du Coulet - Matthieu Barret - Petit Ours 2018
On this terroir of Visan in the Rhône - Clay and limestone - the fairly deep clay soils are there to best express the fruit of the Syrah. All the grapes are destemmed, indigenous yeasts, short fermentation by pumping over in concrete vats, racking and aging for 9 months without sulfur, bottled with 1 g / hl of sulfur.
On this 2018 vintage, here is a wine of freshness and elegance. It asserts itself as a very greedy and rather balanced wine dominated by finesse. It tastes well in its youth even if a year or two of aging should bring it even more freshness and intensity. Produced without sulfur during its aging, exclusively in concrete vats, it offers very good digestibility.
