Domaine des Tourelles - Blanc 2018
Domaine des Tourelles was created by Frenchman François-Eugène Brun in Chtaura back in 1868. Built with stone walls and wood ceilings following the traditional Lebanese architecture, the winery knew several expansions throughout the years. The concrete vats (very rare in Lebanese wineries) provide the best biological conditions for a natural wine making process; which preserves the authentic taste of Lebanon’s “terroir”. These are some of the highest altitude vineyards in the Northern Hemisphere at 3,280 feet above sea level. Benefiting from 240 days of reliable sunshine and the dry climate in the Bekaa where most fungal diseases are not a real threat, all grapes are grown organically. Prior to bottling, the wines undergo a gentle filtration, fining with an organic vegetarian agent and a minimal addition of sulphur.
This wine is a blend of Viognier (65%), Chardonnay (20%), Obeidi (10%), Muscat d’Alexandrie (5%).
