LEON BARRAL - Tradition 2016
Domaine Léon Barral is a producer located in the Faugères appellation within the Languedoc-Roussillon area. The domaine was created in the 1990s by Didier Barral and the vineyard is spread over 30 hectares of biodynamically farmed vines growing on schist soils. The vines are in between 30 to 90 years-old and are classic Rhône grape varieties.
The Faugères Tradition is made from multiple vineyard sites and is a blend of Carignan, Grenache and Cinsault. The wine is fermented in cement tanks using indigenous yeasts. The maceration lasts for 3 to 4 weeks and the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for 24 months. It is bottled without racking, fining or filtration.
Grape varieties: 50% Carignan, 40% Grenache, 10% Cinsault
