FRANCOIS MIKULSKI - Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes 2018
Domaine François Mikulski is a family-owned domaine, created in the 1990s by Claude Boillot, François' maternal grandfather. The 8-hectare vineyard is located in Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy. The Estate has been managed by François and Marie-Pierre Mikulski since 1992. They produce wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and owns plots in six Premier Cru vineyards in Meursault and one in Volnay.
The Meursault Premier Cru "Les Charmes" is made from Chardonnay, the average age of which is 50 years. The Charmes appellation represents an area of 31 hectares in the town of Meursault. Mikulski has 0.66 hectares of vines on this appellation. The aging of this cuvée is in new oak barrels at 20% with the rest in first, second and third use wine barrels to preserve the expression of the terroir. This wine will reach its full potential in five years.
