Clos Larrouyat - Phoenix 2019
Clos Larrouyat is located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, in the Jurançon appellation. It is an estate created by Maxime Salharang in 2011, in honor of his maternal grandfather, Roger Larrouyat. The 3-hectare vineyard is biodynamically managed on a unique terroir of pebbles from the Ossau Valley, but was only awarded the certification for organic farming. Maxime Salharang mainly cultivates two grape varieties: Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng.
Phoenix is the sweet wine of Clos Larrouyat. It is made from 100% Petit Manseng and contains 35 g/L of residual sugar. The wine is aged for 8 months in barrels of first use from Château Smith Haut Lafitte.
