Domaine du Clos Naudin - Vouvray - Sec 2018
Le Clos Naudin is located in Vouvray, in the Loire Valley. The estate was created by Armand Foreau in 1910, when he began to dig the aging cellar by hand in underground galleries. It is now managed by Philippe Foreau, third generation winemaker. Le Clos Naudin extends over a dozen hectares to the North-East of the Vouvray appellation, entirely planted with Chenin Blanc and divided into two large localities: Les Perruches and Les Ruettes. The vineyard has been organically grown and certified since 2015. The vines, whose average age is around 40 years, are regularly replanted by mass selection. Gradually, Philippe Foreau hands over the estate to his son Vincent.
The Vouvray Sec 2018 is entirely made with Chenin Blanc. After pneumatic pressing, fermentation begins spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and malolactic fermentation is stopped to preserve the natural acidity of the grape variety. The aging is quite short, 6 to 8 months without new oak.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
