Bourbon - Michter's US 1 - Bourbon - 45.7%
Michter’s Fort Nelson Distillery is located in the historic Fort Nelson building in Louisville, United States. The four-story building was completed in 1890 and was part of the Nelson Defensive Fort built by the first Louisville settlers in the early 1780s. The Fort Nelson building was purchased in early 2012 with plans to renovate the building and be the first brand to re-establish a functioning distillery in downtown Louisville. Michter’s uses only non-GMO US grains that are classified according to USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) standards as US No. 1; the highest level of grain quality available in the United States. These grains (corn, rye, barley...) are delivered to the place of production in Shively (Louisville), where they are then tested in Michter's laboratory and crushed using the “Michter's Cage Mill” which was designed and custom built by Stedman.
Michter’s Straight Bourbon U.S. 1 is made from a carefully selected mashbill that contains the highest quality American corn. Each batch is tanked separately to hold a maximum of twenty full barrels, leaving no room for imperfections and thus requiring the excellence of each barrel. The Whiskey is aged in new fire-charred American white oak barrels.
