Clos 19 Bis - Graves Rouge 2018
Clos 19 Bis is located in Pujols-sur-Ciron in Bordeaux. The 2-hectare estate belongs to Vincent Quierac. His atypical career (guide in the Sahara then accountant) finally guided him towards viticulture, notably thanks to Patrice Lescarret, his childhood friend and winemaker from Domaine Causse Marines in Gaillac. His small vineyard has been organically grown and certified since 2012. It is divided into two plots: one hectare in the Graves and one hectare in the Sauternesappellation. Today, he produces less than 5,000 bottles a year, red and white combined.
The Red is a blend of Merlot dominant (around 50%), completed by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Part of the Merlot is vinified in semi-carbonic maceration while the two Cabernets are fermented and vinified in the traditional way. The vinifications are natural, without chemical additives or technological practices. The addition of sulfur is limited to the strict minimum to ensure its good development in the bottle.
Grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc
