Château Grand Village - Blanc 2016
The Château Grand Village is a Bordeaux Supérieur located in Mouillac, north of Fronsac, in Bordeaux. It belongs to the Guinaudeau family, owners of Château Lafleur, the Grand Cru from Pomerol. The family has been established in the region since the 17th century, but the first vintage of Grand Village only saw the light of day in 1980. The 17.8-hectare vineyard is planted mainly with red grape varieties (14 hectares), with a small plot where Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon are grown. Château Grand Village uses the same vineyard cultivation techniques as those used at Château Lafleur.
Château Grand Village blanc is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (74%) and Sémillon (26%). The grapes are harvested manually, then sorted meticulously. The wine is vinified in traditional stainless steel vats and then aged in new French oak barrels (20%) for approximately 8 months before bottling.
Grape varieties: 74% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Sémillon
