Champagne Charles Mignon - Brut Premier Cru - Premium Réserve
Champagne Charles Mignon is a family estate founded by Bruno and Laurence Mignon. The Mignon family comes from a line of winegrowers from Mesnil-le-Huttier, a small hamlet of Festigny, a village a few kilometers from Epernay, the capital of Champagne. The Marne Valley vineyard runs along the Côte des Blancs, renowned for the quality of its Chardonnay. Champagne Charles Mignon has vines in the heart of the Grands Crus village of Chouilly. Contract growers supply Pinot Noir from a variety of Premier and Grand Cru sites, as well as the Côte des Blancs Chardonnay. The small but modern wine cellar is equipped with temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and the wines undergo their second fermentation in the bottle in vaulted stone cellars.
Charles Mignon Brut Premier Cru is a blend of Pinot Noir (75%) and Chardonnay (25%). It is made with the first presses of the Premier Cru terroirs of the Montagne de Reims “Mutigny, Mareuil sur Ay, Bisseuil, Ludes, Trépail and Tauxières”, the Coteaux d’Epernay “Hautvilliers, Pierry” and the Côte des Blancs “Grauves”, with 25% reserve wines. The grapes are picked by hand, pressed near to the vineyard and fermented in stainless steel vats. The dosage is 8 g/L to preserve the freshness and fruit, then the wine is aged for 24 to 36 months.
Grape varieties: 75% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay
