VON WINNING - Riesling - Pechstein 2019
Weingut Von Winning is located in the Pfalz region, in Germany. The estate was founded in 1849 by Doctor Andreas Deinhard. His son-in-law, Léopold von Winning, took control of the estate in 1907 and enhanced the quality and profile of the wines. The estate changed ownership in 1918, and its name was changed to Weingut Dr. Deinhard. It was not until 2009 that the old domain name was taken over. It was also a founding member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikats). Today the wines are produced under both the Von Winning and Dr. Deinhard labels. Weingut von Winning owns 64 hectares of vineyard, 85% of which is planted with Riesling. Sustainable viticulture is implemented in the vineyards.
Pechstein GG is located on the slope in the north of Forst and has sandstone, limestone and lots of basalt in the soil. The wine ferments naturally in 500-litres oak barrels and stays 1,5 years on the lees.
