Domaine Thomas Morey - Chassagne Montrachet Vielles Vignes - Rouge 2019
Domaine Thomas Morey is located in Chassagne-Montrachet, in Burgundy. The estate has nine hectares of vines spread mainly over Chassagne-Montrachet, but also over the villages of Maranges, Santenay, Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet and Beaune. Thomas Morey is the tenth generation of Morey in Chassagne-Montrachet. Having experienced the farm of his grandparents and then that of his parents on which he worked for 12 years, he decided to create his own estate with his wife Sylvie in 2006. Thomas Morey’s estate signed its first vintage in 2007.
This Chassagne Montrachet Rouge “Cuvée Vieilles Vignes” comes from two plots of vines close to the village, respectively planted in 1935 and 1969. The brown soils predominantly clay for one of the two plots, the other being more sandy and located on a rump with filtering soils, were formerly reserved for crops for the needs of livestock but also for the horse which had its meadow.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
