RENEGADE - Pre Cask - Dunfermline Column - 50%
Renegade Rum Distillery is the newest project from the man behind the renaissance of Islay’s Bruichladdich Single Malt whisky and Ireland’s terroir-driven Waterford Distillery: Mark Reynier. He chose Grenada because of its wide range of altitudes, microclimates and soils. Working with agricultural partners at CaneCo, he was able to grow numerous varieties of sugar cane across the island on the various terroirs. Old and young, skilled or amateur, numerous Grenadians have learned new skills, mastered modern machinery, and transformed parts of the island into farms full of high quality sugar cane.
Dunfermline Column Still comes from a variety called Lacalome Red (B80689) harvested between November 23 and December 4, 2020 on the Mango Lane terroir. The cane fermentation lasted 2 days and the distillation took place on December 11 and 12, 2020 in a column still. The rum was bottled in mid-July 2021 and 4,386 bottles were produced.
More information is available on the Renegade website in the "CaneCode" section with the code listed on the bottle.
