Celler de Capçanes - Mas Collet - Seleccio 2017
Cellar de Capçanes is located in the south of Priorat, in Spain. The cooperative cellar was founded in 1933, with 80 different people from the village investing in the winery to start making a kosher wine under the Mevushal method. Today, only 5% of the production is kosher, the rest being a wide range of wines.
Mas Collet Selecció 2017 is a blend of Cariñera (40%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Garnacha (30%). All the varieties are vinified separately in stainless steel tanks. Maceration lasts from 8 to 15 days depending on the variety. Ageing lasts 9 months in American and French oak barrels (from new to 5-years-old). The barrels range from light to medium-toasted. The wines are then blended and aged for another 6 months in tank before bottling.
