Fattoria di Basciano - Chianti Rufina 2018
Fattoria Di Basciano is located in Rufina, in Toscana, Italy. It has been owned by the Masi family since the early 1900s. The estate is in the heart of Chianti Rufina, on the top of a hill overlooking the Argomenna valley on one side and the right bank of the Sieve river on the other. It spreads over 70 hectares; 30 hectares are vineyards, 20 hectares are olive groves and 20 hectares are woods. The microclimate, which is dry, breezy, characterized by scarcity of rain and considerable temperature range in the summer, is ideal for the growth and ripening of the grapes.
This Chianti Rufina is a blend of Sangiovese (95%) and Colorino (5%). The fermentation with maceration lasts 20 days, and the malolactic fermentation is completed in inox tanks. The wine is aged in French oak barrels (used one or two years) for 12 months.
Grape varieties: 95% Sangiovese, 5% Colorino
