DOMAINE GRAMENON - Handful of grapes 2021
Domaine Gramenon was created in 1978 and is located in Montbrison-Sur-Lez in Drôme Provençale, at the foot of the first pre-Alpine foothills. The estate is located 350 meters above sea level in the northernmost part of the southern Côtes du Rhône . It is managed by Michèle Aubery and her son Maxime François Laurent . The originality of the Gramenon terroir comes from the limestone barrier (tidal system) once covered by the sea (86 million years ago). Each wine plant planted comes from the mass selection of the vineyard. The vineyard has been cultivated since its creation in 1978 in a natural and organic way but officially obtained the biodynamic Demeter certification in 2010.
Handle of Raisins comes from young Grenache vines. The harvest is partially destemmed and the maceration lasts 15 days in raw cement vats. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts then the wine is very slightly sulphited after the malolactic fermentation. The aging lasts 6 months in vats.
Grape variety: 100% Grenache
