HARDY Rum - Straw Rum - 45%
Hardy rums are produced on the Caravelle peninsula, in Martinique . In 1830, the Habitation “La Grâce” became the Habitation Tartane. A few years later, Emilien Bonneville acquired the distillery and sold it to his daughter Clémence, wife of Gaston Hardy des Sources. From generation to generation for almost 2 centuries, the Hardy family has kept this distillery within its family heritage. In 1930, Gaston Hardy (father) called on one of his children, also named Gaston, to take over. To reinforce the notoriety of Hardy Rums, he then created the famous Rhum Paille and contributed his engineering skills by modernizing the production tool (mill mechanism, concrete chimney, distillation column, etc.).
Paille rum is made with the distillate of pure cane juice, aged in oak barrels for 12 to 18 months.
