Weingut Bründlmayer - Zweigelt 2019
Weingut Bründlmayer is a producer located in Langenlois , Kamptal, northwest of Vienna, Austria . The estate specializes in the production of white wines made mainly from the Grüner Veltliner grape variety. Starting in 1947, a selection of the estate's best-loved wines was stored in the 700-year-old "vinothek" (wine collection) to provide a historical record for future generations. Owner Willi Bründlmayer attaches great importance to the ecological balance of his vines and only uses organic fertilizers for the cultivation of his vines. It relies on natural resources: no herbicides are used and the vines are grown just above the ground to maximize the beneficial effects of the heat of the soil on the grapes.
This wine is made from Zweigelt , an Austrian cross of Blaufränkisch and Saint-Laurent. The grapes are harvested by hand and macerate on the skins for 2 weeks before being pressed. The must is fermented in stainless steel vats. The wine is aged for 12 to 24 months in large 2,400 liter Austrian oak barrels .
Grape variety: 100% Zweigelt
