Château Lespault Martillac 2016
Château Lespault-Martillac is located in Pessac-Léognan , in the Bordeaux wine region. Since the 2009 vintage, the exploitation of the property has been entrusted to Domaine de Chevalier , Grand Cru Classé de Graves, which belongs to the Bernard family . The 8 hectare vineyard is made up of a single piece and is treated like a garden, without weedkillers or chemicals.
The Rouge 2016 is a blend of Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) . The harvest is destemmed then placed in concrete vats of 50 to 80 hectoliters. Extraction is moderate with manual pumping over and punching down. The wine is aged for 14 months (including the first 4 months on lees) in barrels, 1/3 of which are new.
