Le Clos Rouge - Red Alert 2021
Le Clos Rouge is located in the commune of Saint-Jean-de-la-Blaquière, in the Terrasses du Larzac appellation of Languedoc . From 2 hectares in 2013, the estate has expanded to 13 hectares since 2020 with the addition of new plots of Cinsault, Carignan, Grenache Blanc and Noir, and Syrah. Work in the vineyard is done without phytosanitary inputs from industry, with mechanical and manual weeding. The use of manure and decoctions (nettle, horsetail, fern and comfrey) is systematically associated with sulfur and copper sprays. Organic farming certification has been in place since the 2018 vintage.
Alerte Rouge is a blend of Grenache, Carignan and Syrah . The bunches are destemmed then vatted by gravity. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts. Maceration is short.
