Giodo - La Quinta Rosso 2021
Podere Giodo is located in Montalcino, in the Tuscany region of Italy . The estate was founded in 2002 by Carlo Ferrini , a famous winemaking consultant. Today he has 6 hectares of vines planted with the eight Sangiovese clones that most impressed him during his career. Giodo's vineyards are carefully managed, using sustainable practices wherever possible and exercising maximum quality selection on the clusters. The wines are produced in the Brunello di Montalcino appellation and certain plots have been downgraded to IGT Toscana. Podere Giodo also produces a wine in Sicily: Alberelli Di Giodo.
La Quinta is made from Sangiovese grown on 3 hectares at an altitude of 400 meters. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, and vatting lasts 13 days. The wine is aged for 12 months in different containers : 700 liter barrels, 2,500 liter wooden vats and 2,700 liter “cocciopesto” amphorae. Cocciopesto is an ancient material that ensures optimal performance for the production and aging of wine. The wine is assembled and left to rest in cement vats. It is then aged for an additional 6 months in bottle.
Grape variety: 100% Sangiovese
