Château TALBOT 2021
Château Talbot is a property in the Saint-Julien du Médoc appellation, in Bordeaux . It was classified 4th Grand Cru Classé in the Bordeaux classification of 1855. The Château takes its name from Constable Talbot, an English soldier and governor of Guyenne defeated in combat by the French at Castillon in 1453. For a century, it has belonged to members of the Cordier family . The Château is located in the center of the zone of classified raw vineyards, inland from the Léoville properties. The 107 hectare vineyard extends north to the border with Pauillac, all but 5 hectares are planted to red varieties (66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot).
Château Talbot 2021 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (71%), Merlot (24%) and Petit Verdot (5%) . The grapes are harvested manually and sorted by hand and by optical machine. Fermentation takes place in oak vats, followed by aging for 15 months in oak barrels, 60% of which are new.
