Domaine Bellegarde - Pierre Blanche 2022
Domaine Bellegarde is located in Monein, in the Jurançon appellation in the southwest of France. The estate was founded in 1920 by Gratien Labasse and then passed down from generation to generation. Since 1985, his grandson Pascal Labasse has managed the 12-hectare estate in conversion to organic farming . In the vineyard, the southern heat and the south wind allow the raisining of the grapes, an over-ripening technique for the production of sweet wines. The estate produces eight vintages, half dry and the other half sweet.
The Pierre Blanche dry wine comes from a blend of the first selections of Petit Manseng (60%) and Gros Manseng (40%) . The grapes are harvested manually from mid to late October. Fermentation and aging for one year are carried out in half barrels with native yeasts.
Grape varieties: 60% Petit Manseng, 40% Gros Manseng
