Domaine Belargus - Rouères - White Dry 2019
Domaine Belargus is located in Val-du-Layon, in the heart of Anjou Noir in the Loire Valley. The vines are distributed around three main islets (Savennières, Quarts-de-Chaume and Coteaux du Layon), themselves composed of unique terroirs, defined precisely by their exposure, their subsoil or their slope. Built by Ivan Massonnat , the 20-hectare biodynamic estate is dedicated to Chenin Blanc and explores these micro-terroirs in a plot approach inspired by Burgundian climates. The team is made up of young talents such as Adrien Moreau as head cellar and Amaury Chartier as head of cultivation and the estate benefits from the support of true Loire pioneers such as Jo Pithon and Guy Bossard.
“Les Rouères” is one of the three plots listed in the original decree creating the Quarts-de-Chaume appellation. This cuvée comes from Chenin Blanc grown on 2.96 hectares on a terroir of pudding sandstone, exposed on the south-eastern slope of the rump.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
