Champagne Chartogne Taillet - Reims Road 2019
Champagne Chartogne-Taillet is located in Merfy , in the Montagne de Reims in Champagne . The estate has existed since 1683, when the Taillet family began cultivating vines in Merfy. It is still a family estate, managed by Alexandre Chartogne-Taillet since 2006. The 11 hectares of the vineyard are divided into 13 separate plots on a clay-sand terroir. Alexandre Chartogne-Taillet uses organic farming methods and has abandoned the application of synthetic herbicides, but is not certified.
The Chemin de Reims plot is composed of Thanetian sands whose layers vary according to depth, rich in iron. The vine is exposed to the south and south-east. The Chemin de Reims cuvée is made entirely from Chardonnay aged in barrels . It was disgorged in April 2024 and bottled with an Extra-Brut dosage of 4.15 g/L .
