Domaine Pierre Ménard - Laïka 2023
Domaine Pierre Ménard is located in Faye-d'Anjou, in the Loire Valley. It is run by Pierre Ménard, a passionate winemaker who took over part of the family vineyards in 2013. After international winemaking experiences, notably in Portugal (Ramos Pinto), in Hungary (Disznókő) and in Bordeaux (Château Latour), he devoted himself to expressing the richness of the Angevin terroirs. The vineyard extends over 4.12 hectares along the banks of the Layon, highlighting highlights the nuances of schist characteristic of this region. Pierre Ménard favors a plot-by-plot approach to reveal the diversity of his terroirs, with organic farming currently being certified.
Laïka is made from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc grown on a plot at Clos de la Roche and Sauvignon Blanc and Gris from Clos des Mailles. Fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts, and aging lasts 12 months , mainly in barrels. , completed by stoneware jars and vats .
