Domaine de Trévallon - White 2023
Domaine Trévallon is located in the commune of Saint-Etienne-du-Grès, on the northern slopes of the Alpilles in Provence . The property covers 17 hectares, composed of vineyards, scrubland, holm oaks, olive trees and almond trees. In 1950, Jacqueline and René Dürrbach bought Mas Chabert and in 1960, the adjoining property: Trévallon. Eloi Dürrbach planted the first vines in 1973, and managed the vineyard with Floriane for more than thirty years, until his death in November 2021. The emblematic labels of the bottles are the work of René Dürrbach, Eloi's father, painter and sculptor and friend of many painters, including Pablo Picasso. The vineyard has been certified organic since 2007.
Blanc de Trévallon is a blend of Marsanne, Roussanne, Chardonnay and Grenache Blanc . The vinification and maturation of each grape variety are carried out separately. The maturation lasts 12 months in Burgundy barrels, 20% of which are new . The Blanc is best enjoyed the first year after bottling. It will then be necessary to wait between 7 and 10 years depending on the vintage in order to appreciate its complexity.
