Domaine Roc d'Anglade - White 2023
Roc d'Anglade is located in Langlade in the Guard . The village of Langlade has a Grand Cru winemaking tradition. In the 19th century, before the vineyard was destroyed by phylloxera, the village of 650 inhabitants had 165 winegrowers and 625 hectares of vines. Roc d'Anglade was created in 1999 and became the 3rd property of the modern Cru era. The vines, managed organically by Rémy and Martine Pédréno , extend over 7.5 hectares. The terroir is clay-siliceous on limestone marl, facing due north.
Roc d'Anglade Blanc is a blend of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris and Carignan Blanc . Harvesting is done by hand and fermentation begins with indigenous yeasts in demi-muids . Aging lasts 12 months on fine lees and then 6 months in stainless steel vats.
