A little history: the village of Langlade, near Nîmes in the Gard, has an authentic wine tradition. From 1696, Louis XIV signed the edict of attribution of the coat of arms of the village: "of silver with three vertices", symbol of the wine vocation of the commune. The Cru was at its peak in 1868: the village of 650 inhabitants, with an area of 900 Ha, has 165 wine growers and 625 Ha of vines! Langlade wine is one of the renowned vintages of France, and is the only wine from the south classified as a full-bodied great wines with bouquet, like Clos de Vougeot and Montrachet (Le Vin, A. Hébert, 1896, p26 ). The Roc d'Anglade estate was created in 1999, thus becoming the 3rd property of the modern era of the Cru's renaissance. In 2014, the village of 2,000 inhabitants had 6 estates, cultivating seventy hectares.


Domaine Roc d'Anglade: atypical local wines. Rémy and Martine Pedreno are both demanding and idealistic winegrowers. They gave up the AOC to escape the constraints of the grape variety of the Languedoc appellation. This freedom allows them to give birth to prodigious wines, as much acclaimed by amateurs as by informed sommeliers. The 10 hectare estate is made up of a mosaic of plots ranging from 5 to 60 years old, mainly facing north, in order to preserve the freshness and balance of the fruit. Clays, sands, silts and marls of the subsoil impart to the wines a density and a complexity preserved by a natural, organic culture.
