MALENCHINI - Chianti 2018

The Villa Medicea di Lilliano takes its name from the Medici rulers of Tuscany, to whose numerous country retreats the villa was joined in the XVII century, and from its location atop the small plateau of Lilliano that rises between the villages of Antella and Grassina to the south of Florence. 

Today Villa Medicea Di Lilliano Wine Estate is home to Diletta Malenchini and her family, the latest generation of Malenchinis who have owned and cherished this estate for over two centuries. Diletta is hands-on and passionate about the estate’s wines, olives and fresh produce. 

This organic Chianti is a blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Merlot grapes. The grapes are produced in new vines. The fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at 28°C. The fermentation and the break-up of the grape skin lasts for about 12 days.
