Champagne Chartogne Taillet - Le Rosé
Chartogne-Taillet is located in Merfy, in the Montagne de Reims in Champagne. The estate has existed since 1683, when the Taillet family began to cultivate vines in Merfy. It is still a family estate, managed by Alexandre Chartogne-Taillet since 2006. The 11 hectares of the vineyard are divided into 13 separate plots on a sandy clay soil. Alexandre Chartogne-Taillet uses organic farming methods and has abandoned the application of synthetic herbicides, but is not certified.
Le Rosé is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The grapes are harvested by hand and after pressing and fermentation with natural yeasts, the wines are aged in stainless steels. The malolactic fermentation is complete. The dosage is 7 g/L with a liquor composed between 5% and 9% of Pinot Noir must. It is bottled in 2016.
