Domaine de la taille aux loups - Jacky Blot - Clos de Mosny 2020
Domaine de La Taille aux Loups is located in Montlouis-sur-Loire, in the Loire Valley. It exists since 1988, then under the management of a Bordelais who rented 7 hectares of vines belonging to André Chapeau and Clément Germain. In 1990, the wine broker Jacky Blot took care of the vinification of the vintage and over the years became attached to the Domaine. Thus, in 1992, he became the owner. In collaboration with Christophe Mesliand, they quickly forged a good reputation. Jacky Blot attaches importance to respecting nature and the grapes: no pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. The estate has been certified in organic farming since 2012. The choice of traditional ploughing and manual harvesting is emphasised, as soon as the grapes reach perfect maturity. He avoids operations in the cellar and prefers traditional aging, without rushing through the stages. Jacky Blot also owns the Domaine de la Butte in Bourgueil.
Clos de Mosny is a plot cuvée from 12.5 hectares, reduced to old Chenin Blanc vines from the best geological zone (around 8 hectares). The walled enclosure, several hundred years old, is located on a terroir of clayey sands with numerous flints on a clay layer and then limestone bedrock. Aging lasts 1 year on fine lees, in barrels; 1/6 new and 5/6 from 1 to 5 wines.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
