Sakurao Distillery is located in Hiroshima, Japan . Pillar of the Chugoku Jozo house, which he joined in 1998, Taihei Yamamoto originally produced liqueurs, sake and shochu and now continues his malted adventure within the Sakurao distillery, since its creation in 2017.
Sakurao Distillery Gin is produced using a combination of traditional and modern distillation techniques. Botanicals used include yuzu , a Japanese citrus fruit, as well as sansho , a Japanese aromatic herb that resembles juniper berries. Other herbs and spices are also used, such as coriander, cardamom, cinnamon and ginger. The ingredients are first macerated in neutral alcohol, then distilled in a copper column still to obtain a gin base. This base is then distilled again in a stainless steel column still.
