Barbaresco Products - Barbaresco 2020
Produttori del Barbaresco is a cooperative winery located in Barbaresco, Piedmont , Italy . An earlier cooperative, founded in 1894, had established Barbaresco as a separate wine region, but it was closed in the 1920s due to Mussolini's economic policies. In 1958, the village priest of Barbaresco realized that the only way for small producers in the region to survive was to unite. It brought together 19 winemakers under the name Produttori del Barbaresco, and the first three vintages were produced in the basement of the church before the operation was transferred to the village square to the current cellar. Today, the cooperative has 50 member producers , with a combined vineyard total of approximately 110 hectares across most of the region's historic crus.
