Champagne Nicolas Maillart - Rosé Grand Cru
Nicolas Maillart Champagnes are produced in the village of Ecueil, in the Montagne de Reims in Champagne . The family estate was taken over by Nicolas Maillard, 9th generation, in 2003 after studying engineering and oenology. The vineyard is based solely on the Montagne de Reims, on sites classified as Premiers and Grands Crus . Faithful to the typicality of the region, it contains a high proportion of Pinot Noir (75%) supplemented by Chardonnay. There is also a plot of Francs Pied planted in 1973 with Pinot Noir in mass selection without rootstock, as the vineyard was originally. The estate is managed according to sustainable viticulture , respectful of the environment. Since 2009, 130 m² of photovoltaic panels (which represent production equivalent to 90% of total consumption) have been built in order to help respect the environment and reduce the carbon footprint. The wines are labeled High Environmental Value (HVE) Level 3.
