Domaine Philippe Tessier - The Point of the Day 2021
Domaine Philippe Tessier is located in Cheverny, in the Loire Valley. The 26-hectare family estate extends over the Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny appellation areas. Philippe Tessier took over the estate in 1981, which his father Roger had created in 1961. In February 2020, Simon, Philippe's son, took over management of the estate. The vineyard has been certified organic since 1998. In the vines, no chemical inputs are used to keep the soils alive with a large and varied flora and microbial fauna. In the cellar, vinification is carried out without technical artifice: no yeasting, enzyming or chemical correction.
Le Point du Jour is a blend of Pinot Noir (80%) and Gamay (20%) whose vines are around 20 years old. Part of the harvest (70%) is kept in whole bunches, the aging is carried out in vats (50%) and barrels (50%) .
Grape varieties: 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Gamay
