Domaine Les Bruyères - David Reynaud - Les Croix - Old vines 2021
Domaine Les Bruyères is located in the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, in the Rhône Valley. Managed by David Reynaud since 2000, the estate produces wines using certified organic and biodynamic farming methods . The estate covers 27 hectares of vines, on a terroir made up of clay-limestone terraces and pebbles.
Les Croix is made from Syrah from a plot of vines over 60 years old. The harvest is hand-picked with manual sorting on the vines and then on a sorting table. The grapes are fully destemmed and vatted, then devatted by gravity. Vinification is traditional and takes place in raw concrete vats. Vatting lasts 28 to 32 days with punching down and pressing is done with a 5 hectoliter vertical press at low pressure. Aging lasts 18 months, including 12 months in old barrels and then 6 months in concrete vats .
Grape variety: 100% Syrah
